Both of us are descendants of founding merchants in El Paso, so it is only natural that our “pioneering genes” would create a business that brings something to our customers that is useful, functional, AND fashionable. This business supports local vendors and boasts of the quality of workmanship on “la frontera de Mexico.” Also near and dear to our “corazones” (hearts) is a passion to give back to our community in a way that reflects the diversity, love of food and “familia,” and cultural richness of the Borderland. That’s why we’re proud to call ourselves The Border Gals!
With Liz’s background in fabrics and fashion and with Benita’s background in food service, we envisioned a product that “foodie fashionistas” can happily wear to keep their clothes spot free. Voila! The first of Food Firewall products.
If you don’t think you need a clothing protector, check out the “spots that don’t speak” on your shirts, blouses, ties or scarves. If you’re the type who tucks your napkin in your shirt or blouse, why not try a creative alternative and protect your style with one of our Food Firewalls!
